Good evening, blog-readers. It has been a long day, but a good one. Spent the morning doing computer work at my office and had a college/senior high worship and praise meeting at the church. My fingers are quite tender from el guitarro right now. :) The meeting went great.
I am just thinking, though, how easy it is, especially for me, to sometimes lose sight of the real source and purpose for worshipping when I play an instrument. Music is a form/tool to aid in our focussing in on Christ. But sometimes we are so distracted with the music, that we lose sight of Christ. Not a good thing. For me, I have to constantly remind myself of the purpose for our worship - or better, the One who we worship. How easy it is to get lost in the notes and rhythms, and having it flow as just that: music. But oh to have the music flow out of us in response to our love for our Maker and acknowledgement for who He is! To me, I think it comes down to the state of our hearts. To consciously turn our inward attention to the omniprescence of God and to have our hearts opened to His love on a moment-by-moment basis - that is what will cause a contagious joy to flow out... whether in song or dance, whether in words of adoration, or even simply a quiet but overwhelming awe and sense of peace. May I learn to be a true and continuous worshipper of God in my heart, which will then unrestrainedly overflow into my action, speech and songs always.
Cool. God is good. We are weak little containers. :) Hope your day is going well, wherever you are and whatever you are doing. Hey! I was going to leave the website of the missions organization that I will be working with, God willing, in January. Here it is:

Check it out if you have a minute. I have also added the link on the sidebar.
Be blessed in Christ's Name! Have a wonderful day or evening or whenever you read this. Talk to you later!
