I sat in on the last bit of a day of prayer and fasting at Pastor Kennedy's church this pasts Sunday, because a brother from an adjacent town who works with HIV positive people near our house wanted to connect to some Christians in the area. So I brought him over to the church, and wow, what a service. There was some serious prayer going on in there, and worship. They didn't need a huge worship team, and didn't have a big sound system at all - but wow - the presence of God was there. And then they had a time of asking forgiveness of each other and of the pastor and his wife. Very cool. Imagine if everyone in your church went around asking forgiveness of each other for wrongs/offenses done! What freedom that would bring!
This past Sunday... we saw a procession of motorcycles go up the road past the pastor's church, with a pickup truck in the lead. In the back of the pickup truck was the body of a young man, covered over with a sheet except for his feet which were all bloody. He died that day from complications of gunshot wounds which he received over month ago in a gang shooting. That area, called Las Quinientas (or the 500s, literally translated, because there are 500 government-built dwellings) is known for its rougher crowd, drug problems, and gangs. But we believe that Jesus is going to transform that area. We are working in that area with the local pastors. Never have we felt unsafe there, praise the Lord!
Monday night we met with the Pastors of El Factor. We wanted to encourage them to fight for the youth on the streets, in the basketball courts, etc. Today we met with the pastors and leaders of the churches in Payita to encourage them in a similar manner - engage the culture, hang out with the sinners and the sick, go to the uncomfortable places, bring Jesus to them. Both meetings went great! The words that we shared with them were received well, and we received many requests to preach, do evangelistic campaigns, and other activites.
Mixed a whole bunch of cement yesterday - we were pouring a concrete floor for an outside shower at the ministry house. Wow. That was good work - especially in the 95 degree sun. Thank the Lord for water!
Reading an awesome book - "When Heaven Invades Earth" - all about signs and wonders and their place in the church today. It is excellent. I will tell you about it later, once I finish the book. Life-changing stuff!!
Hey! Almost forgot - radio program. We are on the radio every Sunday morning 9-10AM on nitidorayo: http://www.nitidorayo.org/. You can listen live and online to our show Rockin' Rev and the Messenger every Sunday. Check out the photo below - the Lord keeps on pouring out his favour on us, giving us opportunities to minister. We were approached to do this!

Adios, y qué Dios siga bendicirles. Nos vemos,
Ryan
