Teaching In El Yayal

It was a very bumpy hour of travel as Yamilka, my fiancĂ©, and I made our trek to El Yayal, a rural town to the West of Nagua. We breathed a great sigh of relief when we arrived at the Evangelical Free Methodist Church pastored by Rafael Hernandez, a young pastor of about 20 years old. He had invited me to teach a group of singles about dating/courtship. It was a very special and fun evening with that group of young people. We were all blessed as we studied what God’s word has to say about preparation for marriage and how we choose our future spouse with God’s direction. Pastor Rafael was so happy after the seminar and said that it far exceeded what he was hoping for. Praise the Lord! The people were so grateful and generous. They handed us a 2-pound bag of fresh farm cheese as we walked out the door, which just happens the most marvelous cheese around. Please pray for Pastor Rafael and his congregation as they continue to grow and impact their community with the good news of Jesus!
