God's Immense Love

I was listening to the local radio station one afternoon in our mission house, and a song started to play that ministered to my heart. The worship song simply asks the question: Who can separate us, from Your love, Your immense love, Oh Lord? and then repeats the familiar words from Romans 8:38-39, ‘neither life nor death, nor height nor depth, nor angels nor principalities, nor any other created thing can separate us from Your immense love.’ So strong was the presence of God there as I worshipped the Lord in the house that I knew we had to sing that song at the city-wide worship team practise that night. We practised the song together and sang it for the last two city-wide retreats for all the evangelical churches in Nagua. This beautiful scripture put to words ministered powerfully to all the brothers and sisters that were there at the two retreats. No one wanted to stop singing about God’s love! Truly God was ministering to the people of Nagua with His immense love. This song was a powerful reminder to me about how God’s love is undefeatable, untiring, and relentless. As the scriptures cry out, so we also proclaim to each other, “BEHOLD what manner of love the Father has lavished upon us, that we should be called the sons of God.”
