The Rains

Good morning, my friends. Sorry about the utter lack of posts as of late. Things have been a little busy - check out our ministry site for more ministry posts and info. Oftentimes I won't duplicate what's over there - and there are lots of great pics there too.

This morning I got up and took a lovely prayer walk to the ocean. I can look across the bay to the mountains and hills of the SamanĂ¡ peninsula. Incredibly beautiful! It has been raining here quite a bit as of late. The last 4-5 days have been full of storms and rain. In fact, many of the houses in Nagua were flooded on Sunday night. That night, we were leaving from a great service at a local church where Jim was preaching - several people accepted Christ as Saviour and at least one individual was healed. Praise the Lord!! Back to the story... as we drove back towards the house, we took some of the back roads. The roads quickly turned into rivers. We drove by many houses, saddened and upset at the sights that awaited us. People frantically trying to sweep the rising water out of their front patios to keep it from entering. Some houses were already being filled with waters. Others gathered on their front porches (most are just a few inches above street level) hoping that the water would not reach them. Very sad. The next day, we could see piles of damaged possessions on porches as people tried to clean up the mess. Someone told me that they haven't seen this happen in perhaps about 10 years.

We had a team come down from Brampton Christian Family Church about two weeks ago. What an awesome week of ministry and witnessing the hand of God. We had a pastors' conference, women's conferences, outreach services, and did construction and painting in two local churches. Many people have accepted Christ as Saviour for the first time, many have rededicated their lives to Christ, many have been baptised in the Holy Spirit, and many have been miraculously healed in Jesus' Name! Please continue to pray for us as there are many other areas we would like to go to connect with the pastors and churches in those areas. And the cool thing is... this is just the beginning, a taste of what we know God has in store for this country. Wow. We are all feeling very humbled and "why us?" - who are we to be chosen to be a part of this great move of God? But praise the Lord - we are His servants - and know that it is all Him and not of us. We can't heal, save people, or really do anything good on our own strength. It's all Jesus. All for His glory.

God bless you all - keep fighting the good fight of faith. Remember the words of scripture, "The just shall live by faith." Stand firm against the enemy. We have the victory in Christ!

Here are some pics - me praying for a pastor and friend (he has a church in the mountains), a picture of the pastors' conference, and then some of the worship time in the women's conference.
