Wow - Praise Jesus

I thought that would be an appropriate title. That is how I feel - amazed and in awe at how God has been working and pouring out His favour on us. Last Saturday we had an amazing time out in Payita, meeting with the churches and pastors (see below for a picture of us talking with the Pastors). I shared a message from the Word about the reality of the Presence of God. Renee Larson also shared a message from the Word, about being precious pearls formed by the Lord. We led them in some spanish worship songs as well. It was a wonderful day!

Just yesterday, we celebrated Cuidad de Dios, a celebration of prayer and worship before the Lord. It is government-sanctioned, which means that most of the stores are closed. They had many pastors speak and had a wonderful worship band. An incredibly encouraging day! But that is not all... we were asked to share 5 minutes during the event - a prayer and encouragement for the leaders of the country. Our brother Miguel (shown in the pastors' shot in Payita below, beside me) shared a prayer and Jim and I spoke. This is incredible, because we have only been here 7 weeks!! This event was televised and on radio, and thousands were in attendance. Wow. We were able to share our heart and passion for the Dominican Republic with them. Praise the Lord!

And then this past evening Adrian, Jim and I went to Miguel's Aunt's house to speak a word of encouragement from the Word of God. Miguel's cousin had just recently died and his family and friends were mourning. In Dominican culture they mourn for around 9 days. There were many people there and we were able to share the gospel message. Praise the Lord for such an opportunity. I keep on mentioning Miguel - he has become a dear brother to us and we love him dearly. God has used him to connect us with many pastors.

Well, enjoy the photos, my friends. Please pray for us this weekend - we have a big evangelistic event - Friday night, Saturday night and Sunday night with all the churches in Payita. They are inviting out all the communities and we are praying for many souls to be added to the kingdom.
