A Day On The Road

Just the other day, I hopped in my pickup and started the task of visiting half of the pastors in our town of Nagua to hand out invitations for an EDM leadership conference in August. What a blessed time it was, to see all of these men and women of God! This personal connection with these incredible Dominicans is most definitely a highlight of the work I do here. They have embraced us all as their own family. In the afternoon on that same day I headed out to San Rafael to speak with the Church of God pastor and hand out another set of invitations for a worship conference our team will be doing in the region in a few weeks. Her three kids, who once ran at the sight of white folk, now piled on my lap showing me their school workbooks, filled with colourful designs and completed homework (school just finished here). The pastora prepared a heavenly cup of Dominican coffee and we chatted for a few minutes before I headed back to Nagua. The day was topped off by dinner with my lovely and precious fiancé Yamilka. God is good!
