March 2008 Prayer Letter

“The Lord healed my heart!” the man proclaimed joyfully in front of his local congregation. During last month’s healing conference, this brother was healed of a serious heart condition. His heart was dangerously large, so much so that it extended into the other side of his chest cavity, enlarging his chest and creating serious breathing difficulty. He was taking many expensive pills. When the night of the healing service at his church arrived, he was not in good shape. Tired, feeling ill, and discouraged he planned to stay home, but his wife encouraged him to go, not wanted him to miss the blessing and healing of God. During the preaching of the word, the Spirit spoke to the preacher and told him that someone was present in the service that had just received healing for a heart condition. During the time of testimonies at the end of the service he came forward and testified that during the message he felt a sensation like a fire burning inside him, and he felt the pressure in his chest diminish and disappear. With joy, both he and his wife gave praise to the Lord for this great miracle! Our whole team was greatly encouraged by this and many other miracles that we witnessed. Praise be to Jesus the Healer – the same yesterday today and forever!

The EDM team is working hard to prepare the groundwork here in Nagua for pastoral training work. We are working to develop a detailed collection of information on all the churches, their locations, the pastors and their families. With the Lord’s help, we are endeavoring to build strong relationships with each of these men and women of God, so that we can equip, empower, and encourage them and their congregations. It is so exciting! The churches in Nagua have begun to fellowship more, not only with each other, but with brothers and sisters in the surrounding towns. Strong ties of love are growing even stronger as the unity of the brethren is strengthened. Pastors are encouraging other pastors, and even sharing pulpits! Brothers and sisters, we are truly witnessing the beginning of a great move of God! Please continue to pray for the pastors of Nagua and their families. God is hearing your prayers!

Just a few nights ago, many of the churches of Nagua gathered in the intersection of a neighbourhood for a night of celebration and proclamation of the gospel of Jesus Christ. Youth drama and dance teams presented powerful messages of freedom and deliverance, and our team had the great joy and privilege of presenting the message from the Word of God both nights. People filled the streets, balconies, sidewalks, and many sat on their motorcycles listening to songs and message. Praise the Lord, because around 10 people accepted the Lord as their Saviour, and the whole neighbourhood was rocked by the power of God. A store owner that was observing the services commented that although he was not a believer, he enjoyed it so much that he wants to be invited out to every evangelistic event the churches do, no matter where it is in the city! Wow!

Let me continue to express my sincere thanks for all of your encouragement and support. Please continue to pray for the EDM team here, for wisdom and direction. I would appreciate your prayers in the matter of a personal vehicle. I am hoping to find a pickup truck in the near future to help with transportation and ministry work. Also, I am very excited to say that I have begun to do some online studies to further my knowledge in the scriptures, so I can better serve the Lord and His people! May God bless you all in all you do for His sake!

Love, prayers, and blessings,

Ryan
